What the crazyshenangiansnas are your talking about David? Spinach? Smoothie? are you mental, thats a bit like Garlic and bread!!! 😉
It’s delicious. The banana makes it nice and sweet with the milk, and you can’t taste the spinach. I promise!
Ingredients:
- Half a ripe banana
- 1 C skim milk
- Fresh baby spinach (Pack in as much as you want! I use 2 huge handfuls)
Instructions:
Just toss it all in the blender with a couple ice cubes and mmm… SO delicious!!
Serve with a side of toast with almond butter (and the second half of your banana, if you want) and you have the perfect balanced breakfast!

I often get asked where to buy quinoa from in Madrid and they actually sell it in the Mercado Maravillas 2 mins walk from the gym. Oh nice. This is super simple, too – just cooked quinoa (black, white or red are fine) mixed with fresh berries (you can also get pack frozen berries from frozen section of any supermarket)! Add a little cinnamon in for some extra flavor and you`re sorted. Tip: make the quinoa in big batches ahead of time so you can just grab and go in the morning.
Quinoa is a good source of protein and the berries provide all sorts of antioxidants, so it’s a great breakfast choice. Have it alone, or enjoy a side of it along with a piece of toast or a glass of milk.

I’ve been on a big muesli yoghurt kick lately. Basically, just take your normal cereal + fruit combination, and add a serving of yoghurt. My favorite (this auto spell correct changing me to an american with spelling color favorite etc) 🙂 anyhow, my favorite is the active muesli yoghurt. This morning, I topped my yoghurt with a serving of no sugar alpen swiss muesli, some blueberries, and some sliced strawberries. mmmmmmm
Ok rockin and rollin there peeps, let’s see some of these appear in your V.I.P client nutrition log and let me know what you think.
Silly question but can I add strawberries into the spinach smoothie too or does that defeat the purpose?
Yes of course, no probs to add strawberries or any other fruits GO FOR IT! 🙂
Awesome ideas. I have a hard time finding frozen berries though. In which supermarkets in Madrid can I buy them?
Hi Jasmin, give them a try yes. 🙂 The frozen berries are available from “El Corte Ingles” (I know in the one in Sol they have them 100%) also in most carrefours and in the big Al Campo.
